| What
is Mainit Dot Org? |
| |
Mainit Dot Org is a group of
individuals who trace their roots back to
Mainit, a town in the province of Surigao
del Norte, part of the Caraga Region in Mindanao,
Philippines. Some members are now based in
various parts of the world (North America,
Europe, Middle East, Asia), but they visit
the town occasionally and maintain direct
contact with the townspeople, their relatives
and friends who live there. Other members
are still very much in town; they keep in
touch with the Org through the Internet and
other communications networks. |
| What
do you do? |

1. Provide a forum for discussion
of developmental issues of the town. |
| |
2. Help connect Mainitnons in
various parts of the world. (Watch out! World
dominion coming up. :) ) |
| |
3. Initiate projects like Digital
Literacy and Balik-Tudlo. (See "Projects"
in the main page.) The former project aims
to promote community-based digital literacy
and computer skills. The latter is an initiative
to supplement the town's educational programs
with highly competent visiting teachers especially
in science, mathematics, and technology. |

You can help in many ways. Some
suggestions: |

1. Donate in kind. (Look for
the specific needs of each project under "Projects"
in the main page.) |

2. Volunteer in whatever capacity
you think is needed by the group. For details,
