CSSP-OSA and CSSPSC Doing the First Aid Funk: A First Aid Training with UP RCY

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), in partnership with the CSSP Student Council (CSSPSC), held an event entitled “First Aid Funk: A First Aid Training” on January 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Palma Hall Room 207. The training was the first in a two-session basic preparedness series headed by the OSA. The aim of the event was to equip students with the fundamentals of first aid and some essential first aid techniques. The training was conducted by the student organization, the University of the Philippines Red Cross Youth (UP RCY).

To start off the training, Dean Grace H. Aguiling-Dalisay, PhD gave her opening remarks on the purpose of the event in connection to the mandate of the mission-vision statement of CSSP, Haraya 2020, to enhance the quality of student life and to nurture the ideal UP student. Succeeding Dean Aguiling-Dalisay’s remarks was the training proper facilitated by the UP RCY. The organization enumerated and demonstrated the various basic tools, practices, and injuries related to first aid situations. An open forum then took place for the audience to ask questions for the first aid trainers. The program closed with the awarding of the certificate to the UP RCY members given by OSA Coordinator, Mr. Jairus D. Espiritu.

“First Aid Funk: A First Aid Training” was hosted by the Masters of Ceremonies, Mr. Renzo Relente and the Ms. Alexandra Pascua of the CSSPSC.
