The College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), in cooperation with the Office of International Linkages Diliman (OILD), hosted a meeting with Seafarers International Research Centre (SIRC), Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom on 13 November 2015 at 3:00 PM in Palma Hall 109. Possible research collaborations between CSSP and SIRC were explored during the meeting. Funding sources for research, dissertation and post-doctoral fellowships and mid-career grant programs were also presented and discussed.
The meeting was attended by Professor Helen Sampson (Director) and Dr. Nelson Turgo (Research Associate) from Cardiff University; Dr. Grace Aguiling-Dalisay (Dean), Dr. Ma. Theresa Payongayong (Associate Dean for Academic Affairs), Prof. Herman Joseph Kraft (Associate Dean for Administration and External Affairs), Dr. Aldrin Lee (Linguistics Department Chair), and Dr. Ma. Cecilia Gastardo-Conaco (Professor) from CSSP; and Dr. Grace Ramos (Program Development Associate for International Linkages) and Ms. Noelle Rivera (International Programs Officer) from OILD.
This meeting marks the beginning of the actual implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of the Philippines and Cardiff University.
